Goal setting in an important facet of our everyday lives, whether it is for our own personal gain or that of our team. One way of being successful in our lives to to continually set realistic goals that will push us up to and beyond our known capabilities, yet find a balance of what is obtainable and what is not. As we begin this season, each athlete should be thinking about their goals for the season. These should be general in nature (i.e.: to complete the season, to earn a varsity letter, to qualify for regions, etc.) AND they should be specific (i.e.: jump 22' in LJ, run 100M is 11 seconds or better, clear 12' in PV, etc.). Take some time and respond to this blog with your personal goals for the season. Be specific with distances and times and include all events you will participate in. Remember to think big but realistic with your goals.
